We had a great breakfast with scrambled eggs, fresh baked bread and bacon included. The staff was willing to help and gladly accommodated all our requests. It was in a marvellous and incredible location just a walking distance from Main Square.

Breakfast was incredible, exceptionally good views, stunning location near the most important sights, and Cardamomo for flamenco dancing. The rooms were fairly priced, spotless and huge. The bathroom was good size and it had a shower, hairdryers and bath sheets for my convenience.

This place was a solid choice for a quick stopover in Madrid, offering great value. The room was very basic but clean, and I enjoyed having my own private bathroom with a small balcony to overlook the street. Consider bringing earplugs if you're a light sleeper, as street noise can be an issue at night.

Location is the only reason why you plan your stay at Hostal Abadia. Just walking distance from Calle Mayor, Plaza Mayor, San Miguel market or Puerta del Sol.
The hostal staff appears to be unwilling to make your stay pleasant. And the hostal is so noisy that you can hear every thing from the street, from corridor, from next room and so on. Don't book a parking place via hostal. It's just 15€ a day but it's not worth that money. The hostal has got only one key for the parking lot, requires that the key has to be returned immediately once you get in or out. The breakfast is kind of tragicomedy. Only one croissant and one juice is allowed. For that money you can get a better breakfast at Plaza Mayor or somewhere close to the hostal. I don't think that we likely stay at that hostal again.

I had an amazing stay! The air conditioning was fantastic, especially in the 98F heat, and the clean linen and towels made my experience so much better. The spacious shower was a nice surprise! I would gladly stay here again.

Excellent location. Walking distance to major museums (15 - 25 minutes). 10 minutes from Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor. Plenty of restaurants and cervecerias near by. 4 minutes from the best jazz club in Madrid (Central). From the airport a 45 minutes metro trip (5 euros). Nice breakfast served in next door cafe. Very nice and helpfull staff. My room was fully renovated, beautifull bathroom. Plenty of heating. No street noice. Excellent ratio price/quality!
